H. A. MATHISON BURIED TODAY
GREENWOOD MAN, 81, DIES SUNDAY


Greenwood--Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at Grace Methodist Church for Henry A. Mathison, 81, Greenwood, Clark County, who died early Saturday morning, Sept. 10, 1949 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. He had been admitted Sept. 1 and had undergone an operation there Sept. 8.


The Rev. Lee H. Holmes was the officiating clergyman and burial took place in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Henry Anton Mathison, son of the late Martin and Karen Mathison, was born in Black River Falls Dec. 14, 1867, and was married Aug. 24, 1898 to Anne Tucker, who died Oct. 8, 1944.


When he was three years old he moved with his parents to a farm southeast of Greenwood, where he resided until retiring in 1931. Since then he had been a resident of the City of Greenwood.


Survivors are his son Chester, Milwaukee a granddaughter, Betsey, Milwaukee and two brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Stoneburg, Cottage Grove, Ore. John, Portland, Ore. and Anna and Albert, both of Greenwood.


A son, Forest, died in infancy a daughter, Eva, on Dec. 18 and a brother, Ben, also preceded him in death.
