GERALD STEFFEN


Gerald Steffen
, 82, Greenwood, Clark County, died Friday, July 20, 1990, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 24, 1990, at 11 a.m. at Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood. Rev. Roman Kaiser, St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal, officiated. Burial was in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Greenwood. Pallbearers were Albert Pogodzinski, Raymond Miller, Vernon Miller, Eugene Zawadski, Gorden Worden and Richard Acker.


Gerald Steffen was born April 15, 1908 in Milwaukee to Paula and Amelia (nee Kuhlman) Steffen. He received his education in Greenwood School and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1927. He married Ann Tomac, Oct. 28, 1946, in Greenwood. She preceded him in death Oct. 1, 1959. He farmed all his life in the town of Warner, retiring in 1974. He worked for the Clark County Conservation Corp. He was a member of the National Guard.


Survivors include four sons, James Steffen, Marshfield; Charles Steffen, Willard; Allen Steffen, Greenwood; and Eugene Steffen, Merrill; one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Paulette) Nelson, Grygla, Minn.; and six grandchildren.


Preceding him in death were his wife, his parents, his stepfather and one brother.


Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
