Marden, Daisy (1880 - 1966)


GREENWOOD--Mrs. William Marden, 85, Greenwood, Clark County, died at 6:10 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 1966 at the Memorial Hospital in Neillsville, where she had been admitted Friday.


Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Grace Methodist Church in Greenwood. The Rev. Carl Booher will officiate, and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


The body will repose at the Hill Funeral Home until time of services.


The former Daisy Hale was born July 21, 1880, at Lime Ridge, Wis. and came to Clark County when she was 11 years of age. Her marriage to William Marden, who preceded her in death in 1959, took place Sept. 1, 1896, at Hewittville.


The Mardens resided in Neillsville until 1915, when they came to Greenwood, where Mr. Marden had operated a jewelry store.


Mrs. Marden was a member of Grace Methodist Church and its Women's Society of Christian Service.


Survivors are three grandchildren, Mrs. Billie Jean Howard, Elmonte, Calif.; Mrs. Jack (Betty) Kruger, Loyal; and Kenneth Marden Jr., Milwaukee; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Kenneth Marden Sr., Milwaukee; and eight great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth in 1953 a daughter, Mrs. George (Vivian) Clow one great-grandchild a brother and two sisters.
