Fortuna, Mary (1874 - 1964)
GREENWOOD--Mrs. Mary Fortuna, 90, Travor, a former resident of Willard, Clark County, died Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 2, 1964, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood, and at 10 a.m. Monday at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. The Rev. William Nikolai will officiate and burial will be made in the Holy Family Cemetery.
The body will repose at the Hill Funeral Home from Sunday noon until time of services. A general rosary service will be conducted there at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Fortuna was born Aug. 15, 1874, in Yugoslavia. Her marriage to Anton Fortuna, who preceded her in death Feb. 1928, took place in 1901 at Rock Springs, Wyo. In 1911 the couple came to Willard and settled on a farm now occupied by their son, Louis and family. In 1949, she moved to Neillsville and then to Greenwood until six years ago when she went to Trevor.
Survivors include four daughters, Miss Agnes Fortuna, Trevor Mrs. Joseph (Frances) Slemec, Owen Mrs. Andrew (Mary) Savage, Chicago, Ill. and Mrs. John (Ann) Fortuna, Rock Springs, Wyo. three sons, Anton, North Lake, Ill. John, Trevor and Louis, Willard 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister.
