Hegenbarth, Edwin Henry (1897 - 1963)


GREENWOOD--Edwin Henry Hegenbarth, 66, Greenwood, Clark County, died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 1963, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, where he had been a surgical patient since June 17.


Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church and burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. Arvid Myhrwold will officiate. Friends may call from Tuesday afternoon until Wednesday at 11 a.m. when the body will be taken to the church.


Mr. Hegenbarth was born April 24, 1897, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, and married Hattie Thompson Hanson on Feb. 28, 1921, at Cashton. They farmed in the Monroe County area and moved to Greenwood in the fall of 1930, where he farmed on the Bronson and Wuethrich farms. They moved into Greenwood in 1951, where he worked for Larry Simpson. He was presently employed at the Stewart cheese factory.


He was confirmed at United Lutheran Church, which is now Our Savior's , at Greenwood, of which he was a member. He was also a member of its Men's Brotherhood and a former council member of the church.


He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Donald (Minerva) Sorenson, Milwaukee Mrs. Ronald (Leona) Tieman, Greenwood Mrs. Marvin (Catherine) Karlen, Stanley Mrs. Maurice (Esther) Nielsen, Oregon, Wis. two sisters, Mrs. Francis (Viola) Harris, Milwaukee Mrs. Joseph (Lillian) Koukl, Rice Lake two brothers, Jennings, Rice Lake Oswald, Barron and eight grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by one daughter, Hazel Margaret, one stepdaughter, Alice Hanson, one sister, Frieda, and one brother, William.
