Grum, Josephine (1910 - 1963)


GREENWOOD--Mrs. Tony Grum, 53, died unexpectedly in Greenwood, Clark County at 5 a.m. today, June 5, 1963. She had been in poor health for the past six years.


The Rev. Orval Egbert of the United Church of Christ, will officiate at the funeral service which will take place at the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood at 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery. Frinds may call at the funeral home after Thursday afternoon.


The former Josephine Slovnik was born Jan. 13, 1910, in Waukegan, Ill. In 1918 she moved with her parents to Willard and in 1922 she returned to Waukegan, where she married Tony Grum on Oct. 30, 1923. The Grums lived in Waukegan until 1942, when they moved to Longwood. In 1945 they moved to Greenwood, where they have resided since.


Mrs. Grum is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Phyllis) Smith, Greenwood and Mrs. John R. (Lillian) Smith, Japan one son, Richard, Fond du Lac one brother, John Slovnik, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Ryan and Mrs. Toivo (Stephie) Ryoti, and her mother, Mrs. Josephine Slonik, all of Waukegan, and two grandchildren.
