Brandt, Minnie (1881 - 1956)


GREENWOOD--Mrs. John H. Brandt Sr., 75, a lifelong resident of the Greenwood, Clark County area, died of a lingering illness at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 1956, at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville. She has been a patient there since Feb. 22.


Funeral services will be held here at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Methodist Church. The Rev. Ethel Nulton will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Friends may call at the Stabnow Funeral Home until 11 a.m. Tuesday, when the body will be taken to the church.


Mrs. Brandt, the former Minnie Rossow, was born in the Town of Beaver March 9, 1881, and was married to Mr. Brandt Aug. 28, 1902, at Loyal. They then resided on a farm 5 miles northeast of Greenwood until their retirement six years ago, when they moved to the city, celebrating their golden wedding here in 1952. Mr. Brandt died May 1, 1955.


A member of Grace Methodist Church, Mrs. Brandt was associated with its Women's Society of Christian Service. She also was a member of the Pioneer Circle.


Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. James (Emma) Morrow, Colby one son, Paul, Rochester, Wis. five brothers, William Rossow, Greenwood Otto, Loyal Charles, Neillsville Paul, Owen and Fred, address unknown four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. One brother, Albert, preceded her in death.
