Severson, Robert Dale (1938--1956)


GREENWOOD--Funeral rites will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church here for Robert Dale Severson, 17, who died Tuesday morning, July 24, 1956, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, of injuries suffered in a car accident near Spencer early Sunday morning. Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage.


Five other teenagers from Greenwood and Loyal, Clark County, were less seriously injured in the mishap. The car in which they were passengers, missed a curve on Highway 98 and rolled over several times.


Robert, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Benhard Severson, was born in Greenwood Nov. 13, 1938, and received his education in local schools.


Besides his parents he leaves sever brothers and sisters, Bernard (Pat), Loyal Mrs. Ed (Rosella) Dergance, Mrs. Ed (Irene) Bombach and Mrs. Ed (Darlene) Trunkel, all of Willard Mrs. Keith (Ruth) Stroud, Milwaukee Mrs. Duane (Dorothy) Miller, Loyal, and Shirley, at home.


Friends may call at the Stabnow Funeral Home here from Thursday noon until Friday noon, when the body will be taken to the church. The Rev. Ira Tanner will conduct the final rites.
