Stewart, Richard Steven (1954 1968)

GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--Funeral services will be conducted at Grace Methodist Church here at 2 p.m. Friday for Richard Steven Stewart, 13, who drowned Saturday, June 15, 1968 in the Chippewa River at Eau Claire. The boy's body was recovered Wednesday.

Following Friday's service, which will be conducted by the Rev. Fred Francis, pastor of Wesleyan Methodist Church, Eau Claire, burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Richard was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Stewart, 1509 Altoona, Ave., Eau Claire, who moved to that city from Greenwood about two years ago. The boy was born in Marshfield Sept. 24, 1954 and had spent most of his life in Greenwood. Authorities said he apparently fell into the river Saturday while looking for pigeons on an Eau Claire bridge with a companion.

The body is at the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood.

In addition to his parents, Richard is survived by three brothers, Alan, Robert and Thomas, all at home, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gage, Marshfield and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart, Greenwood.
