Bergant, Frank M. (1886 - 1961)

 


GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--Frank M. Bergant Sr., 75, suffered a fatal heart attack Monday at 1 p.m. at his home in Willard.


Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hill Funeral Home, where friends may call beginning Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. Aloysius Madic, pastor of the Holy Family Catholic Church, will officiate and burial will be made in the National Cemetery at Willard.


Mr. Bergant was born in Yugoslavia Jan. 26, 1886. He came to America in 1905, settling in Ely, Minn., where he married the former Marion Groslj April 21, 1906. The couple lived in that city until 1918, when they began operating a farm northwest of Willard. He retired from farming 10 years ago, and for the past six months had lived in the village of Willard.


Survivors include his wife three sons, Frank Fr. And John, Willard, and Tony, Cicero, Ill. three daughters, Mrs. August (Mary) Stremikis, Willard Mrs. Louis (Amelia) Bogolin, Western Springs, Ill. and Mrs. George (Angeline) Papacek, Downers Grove, Ill. a sister who resides in Yugoslavia six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
