Goeke, Lydia (1894 - 1953)


GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--Mrs. William Goeke, 59, lifelong resident of this area, died at her home 2 miles northwest of here at 9 o'clock Monday evening, Dec. 14, 1953, following a long period of illness.


The Rev. Charles Koch will officiate at funeral service in the West Side Evangelical and Reformed Church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Burial will be made in the West Side Cemetery.


Friends may pay their respects at the Stabnow Funeral Home beginning at noon Wednesday.


Mrs. Goeke was born Lydia Decker Sept. 1, 1894, in the Town of Warner and was married there May 27, 1920. She received here education in Greenwood schools.


She was a member of the West Side Evangelical and Reformed Church and a member and former officer of the Ladies Aid Society affiliated with that church.


Besides her husband and her mother, Mrs. Henry Decker, she is survived by two sons, Gerald, Milwaukee; Harvey, at home a daughter, Mrs. (Alice) Lorris Dusso, Greenwood; three brothers, Oscar Decker, Spencer; William and Arnold Decker, Greenwood; two sisters, Mrs. (Esther) Harold Sievert, Eau Claire; Mrs. (Meta) Calvin Franz, Greenwood; and two grandsons, Billie and Jimmy Dusso, Greenwood. Her father preceded her in death.
