MRS. HUGO ROSS, FORMERLERY OF GRANTON DIES
 

Services were held for Mrs. Hugo (Ella) Ross, 74, Waupun, formerly of Granton, Clark County, at Pelle Lutheran Church, Waupun on Tuesday with burial at Waupun.


Pallbearers were Donald, Roger, and Roland Helm, Steve and David Speidel, and Dean Ross.


The congregation sang, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" and "Rock of Ages" .


The former Ella Garbisch was born Nov. 1, 1900 in the Town of Grant. She received her education in the Granton area. Her marriage to Dr. Hugo Ross, a chiropractor, took place at Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, on Aug. 27, 1922. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1972.


Survivors include her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Steve (Mildred) Speidel, Waupun; two sons, Delavan, Madison, and Alan, Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Clara) Helm, and Mrs. Louis (Adelia) Helm, Granton; and Mrs. Alfred (Florence) Wolkenhouser, Burnett two brothers, Daniel and Edward, Granton; and 13 grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by a son, Vernon and a brother, Arnold.

Ross, Ella (1 November 1900 – 12 July 1975)

Mrs. Hugo (Ella) Ross, 74, of Waupun, a native of the Town of Grant, died July 12 in a Waupun hospital following a heart attack. Funeral services were held Tuesday from a Lutheran Church in Waupun. Burial was also in Waupun.

Mrs. Ross, the former Ella Garbisch, was born November 1, 1900, in the Town of Grant and was educated in schools in the Granton area. She was married to Dr. Hugo Ross, a chiropractor, on August 2, 1922, at Zion Lutheran Church, Granton.

The Rosses, who lived in Sun Prairie for many years, moved to Waupun about a month ago.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter Mrs. Steve (Mildred) Speidel of Waupun, and two sons, Delwin Ross of Madison and Alan Ross of Manitowoc; and 13 grandchildren. Another son, Vernon, lost his life in a drowning accident at Stevens Point on May 26, 1946.

She is also survived by two brothers, Daniel and Edward Garbisch of Granton; and by three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Clara) Helm and Mrs. Louis (Adelia) Helm, both of Granton, and Mrs. Alfred (Florence) Walkenhauer of Burnett.
