Cassem, Harlan (1929 - 1991)


Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Douglas Bjerke at Gesche Funeral Home, Inc., Neillsville, on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 1991, at 11 a.m. for Harlan Cassem, 61, of Route 2, Granton.


Mr. Cassem died on Jan. 2, 1991, at 11:36 a.m., at his residence.


Carol Glaze, accompanied by Jeanette Steiner provided musical selections at the service. Burial was in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Owatonna, Minn.


He was born on Oct. 9, 1929, at Armstrong, Iowa, to Howard A. and Carrie (nee Holland) Cassem. He received his education in Iowa.
He worked in Alaska for 27 years, part of which was spent working on the Alaskan pipeline. He was also a Korean War Vet. He came to the Granton area in 1958 and has resided her since.


He was a member of Haugen-Richmond American Legion Post 73 and the National Rifle Association.


Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. Pamela Gunderson of Rochester, Minn. and Mrs. Mary Joyce Smith of Anchorage, Alaska two sister, Mrs. Faye Davis of Pleasant Hill, Calif. And Mrs. Florence Wicklander of Minneapolis, Minn. and two grandchildren.


Preceding him in death were his parents one brother and one sister.
