Manz, Kenneth F. (1911 - 1991)

Dr. Kenneth F. Manz, 79, Neillsville, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 1991, at Neillsville Memorial Hospital Neillsville. Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 17, 1991, at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church, Neillsville. Rev. Thomas LaChapelle officiated and burial was in East Lawn Cemetery, Alma Center. Friends served as pallbearers.

Dr. Kenneth F. Manz was born May 17, 1911, in Chippewa County, to Robert H. and Louisa (nee Auer) Manz. He received his education in Eau Claire High School. After he attended Ear Claire Teacher's College for two years, he attended UW-Madison for four years, where he studied medicine. He interned and did his residency at Augustana Hospital in Chicago, Ill., for two and a half years.


 Following school, he practiced at Burlington for one year. He then went to Black River Falls, where he practiced at the Krohn Clinic for seven year. He married Elinor Chapman Aug. 3, 1937, in Alma Center. She survives. He came to Neillsville in 1946, when he and Dr. M. V. Overman formed the Neillsville Clinic. He practiced here for more than 30 years. He was also instrumental in the building of the new Neillsville Hospital. He was a member of Neillsville United Methodist Church, American Medical Association, State Medical Society, Clark County Medical Society, Neillsville Lodge 163 F Am.

Survivors include his wife two sons, Peter J. Manz, Neillsville and Paul C. Manz, Newark, Calif. two daughters, Mrs. George (Mary) Bruno, Chicago, Ill. and Mrs. Richard (Katherine) Cowett, Providence, R.I. one brother, Dr. Walton Manz, Eau Claire and five grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, One brother Alvin, and one sister Linda.

Gesche Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Memorials may be give to Neillsville United Methodist Church or Neillsville memorial Hospital.
