Elbert, Roland B. (1918 - 1990)


Funeral services were held Monday, June 25, 1990, for Roland B. Elbert, 72, Route 1, Neillsville. He died Wednesday, June 20, 1990, at his residence. Rev. Claire Boes officiated at the service at Turner Funeral Home, Spirit Lake, Iowa. Burial was in the Spirit Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Spirit Lake, Iowa.


Rolan B. Elbert was born March 21, 1918, in Whittemore, Iowa, to John and Anna (Gangloff) Elbert. He received his education there. After school he worked on road construction with his father. He married Sylvia Becker on Oct. 14, 1940, in Livermore, Iowa. He then began manufacturing fishing tackle, which he did for 18 years in Spirit, Lake, Iowa. He retired from the tackle business in 1970. He and his wife moved to Neillsville in 1979, where he resided until the time of his death. His wife survives.


Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers and one sister.


Gesche Funeral Home, Inc., Neillsville was in charge of the local arrangements.
