Lucht, Emily E. (1918 - 2001)


Emily E. Lucht, 82, Altoona, formerly of Loyal, died on Sunday, April 22, 2001, at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home, Altoona. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, April 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. The Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiated. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian Bredlau, dale Barneson, Timothy Lima, Arthur Petke III, Dennis Bredlau, and Robert Fredrick.


Emily Elizabeth Augusta Bredlau was born on July 20, 1918, in the town of Sherman, to Emil A. and Marie E. (nee Bleuer) Bredlau. She was raised on the farm and educated in the Spokeville school. After her schooling, she died housework and took care of other people's children. She married Gerhardt Carl Lucht on Jan. 5, 1943, in Marshfield. They bought her husband s parents farm, near Loyal, and farmed there until retiring in 1979. They remained living on the farm until her husband s death on March 6, 1991. She then moved to the Hometown Village, Loyal. She resided there until 1999, at which time she moved to be near her daughter, Karin, in Eau Claire. She entered Oakwood Villa Nursing Home, Altoona, in the fall of 1999 and resided there until the time of her death. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, and its T.L.C.W., and a past member of the Spokeville Homemakers. She enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.


Survivors include two daughters, Karin Hill, Eau Claire, and Kathleen (Art Jr.) Pete, Withee four grandchildren, Jacqueline (Dale) Barneson, Dawn Lima, Timothy (Amy) Lima, and Art (Sandi) Petke III eight great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Barneson, Abraham Barneson, Rebecca Barneson, Isaac Barneson, Hannah Barneson, Mariah Lima, Jennasa Lima, and Arthur Petke IV four sisters, Lucille Wirtz, Mallard, Iowa, Esther Fredrick, Marshfield, Dorothy (Joe) Lauby, Denver, Colo., and Arlene Barker, Adams four brothers, Robert (Marcie) Bredlau, Owen, Harry Pat (Shirley) Bredlau, Madison, Gerald, Jerry (Janet) Bredlau, Rice Lake, and John (Elaine) Bredlau, Manistique, Mich.


She was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Gerhardt and two grandsons, Jonathon and Gerhardt Lima.


Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.
