Oestreich, Donald G. (1934 - 2001)

Donald G. Oestreich, 67, Loyal, died on Wednesday, June 27, 2001, at the House of Dove Hospice Home in Marshfield.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 30, 2001, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser officiated. Burial followed in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronald Rueth, Larry Rueth, Mike Lindner, Wayne Huyett, Jon Strey and Lony Oestreich.

Donald Glen Oestreich was born on Feb. 14, 1934, in Spencer, to Everett and Adeline (nee Wolter) Oestreich. He graduated from Loyal High School in 1953. He entered the United States Marine Corp in March of 1954 and served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in March 1957. On July 10, 1957, he married Joann Langfeldt at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. They farmed in the town of Loyal, Clark County, for 25 years. After their move to Loyal, he worked with his family in the logging/trucking business until becoming ill last year. He loved his family and greatly enjoyed time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed card playing, snowmobiling, and tractor pulling.

He was past president of the Snow Angels and Clark County Snowmobile Association and was the chairman of the Loyal Corn Festival Tractor Pull Committee. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Joann Oestreich, Loyal his children, Scott (Colleen) Oestreich, Colby Peggy (John) Wasshausen, Wis. Rapids John Oestreich, Loyal Randy (Caroline) Oestreich, Marshfield Time (Lori) Oestreich, Marshfield David (Tammy) Oestreich, Wis. Rapids Lisa (Greg) Mahoney, Loyal and Sue (Eddie) Giese, Loyal 20 grandchildren Loni, Kayce and Sara Oestreich, Nicki, Sean, and Matt Wasshausen, Haley Oestreich, Jessica, Jennifer, and Jamie Oestreich, Zena, Ross, Austin and Luke Mahoney one brother, Richard Oestreich, Yustus, Fla., and one sister, Betty Jean Reindel, Scottsdale, Ariz. and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, bobby Oestreich one infant daughter, Mary Kay Oestreich and two infant granddaughters, McKailie and McKenzie Oestreich.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.
