Pickett, Jack (1925 - 2001)


Jack Pickett, 76, Spencer, died on Thursday, July 26, 2001, at the House of the Dove, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 30, 2001, at Community Funeral Home, Spencer. The Rev. Charles Stoetzel officiated. Burial was in the West Spencer Cemetery, town of Sherman.


Jack Pickett was born on June 13, 1925, to Earl and Theresa (nee Beeckler) Pickett on the family farm. He was a 1943 Spencer High School graduate. He married Sylvia Beaver on June 28, 1950, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Spencer. He farmed in the town of Unity, Clark County and worked for Lester Bruesewitz Construction and Dennis Bargander Construction. In his retirement years, he worked at Karau's Warehouse and later Copps.


Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Pickett, Spencer two sons, Brian (Jackie) Pickett, Spencer, and Earl (Annette) Pickett, Marshfield one daughter, Michelle Pickett, Spencer three grandchildren, Dawn (Chad) Much, Benjamin Pickett, and Rochelle Holmes great-grandson, Brandon Much, and a sister, Audrey (Robert) Spry, Granton.


He was preceded in death by his parents a brother, Rex Pickett and a sister, Ione Pickett-Cooper.


Community Funeral Home, Spencer, assisted the family with arrangements.
