Wenzel, Valentine (1846 - 31 MAR 1925)

Valentine Wenzel, a resident of the town of Hixon for twenty years, died at the home of his daughter at Chili, on Tuesday March 31, after a lingering illness, at the age of seventy-nine years. Three years ago after retiring from active life on his farm he went to Chili where he has since resided, and his death was not unexpected, because of his poor health. He was one of the early pioneers in the Hixon township and was a highly respected citizen. He leaves to mourn four daughters, Mrs. Wm. Atkins, Mrs. Peter N. Hansen, Mrs. Harry O. Hansen all of Withee and Mrs. W. E. Lee of Chili and two sons, John and Frank both of Withee. His body was brought here Wednesday for burial and funeral services were conducted this afternoon at the Methodist church, Rev. W. F. Grandy officiating. Interment was made in the Riverside cemetery.
