Oestreich, Neil (1918 - 1980)


Funeral services for Neil Oestreich, 61, of 107 South Gwinn, Loyal, Clark County, were conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 18, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal.


Mr. Oestreich died at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 15, 1980, at Neillsville Hospital.


Officiating was Rev. Paul Forde of Calvary Lutheran Church of Neillsville. Mrs. Mavis Rossow was the soloist and Mr. Ronald Gluch the organist. Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Neil Oestreich was born on Aug. 23, 1918, in Loyal to the late Frank and Iva (nee Ferguson) Oestreich. He received his education at Loyal High School.


He married Linda Schultz in Dubuque, Iowa, on Dec. 13, 1952.


After he was in the service, he worked for Klein Trucking of Spencer. In 1947, he started working for Clark County Highway, retiring in 1975 due to ill health.


He served in World War II from 1942 to 1945. He was a life member of of Colby a member of the Loyal American Legion and a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.


He is survived by his wife Linda three sons, Harold Stange of Colby, Stange of Abbotsford and Lyle of Milwaukee one daughter, Mrs. Charles Montgomery of Nebraska four sister, Mrs. Harold (Lyla) Bain of Loyal, Vera Dull of Loyal, Mrs. James (Nina) Sands of Prescott and Mrs. Cullen Ayer of Loyal 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by one step-grandson.


Pallbearers were David Ayer, Randy sands, Jeff Stange, Randy Stange, Stange and Mike McCarron.
