Dorn, William (1854 - 1917)

Mr. William Dorn was born January 13th, 1854 in Pennsylvania and moved to Hartford, Wis., with his parents when about 2 years of age. In the year 1876 he was married to Mary J. Gardner and in the year 1881 they moved to Clark County on a farm 4 miles south of Loyal, where they resided about 26 years. They then moved to the village of Loyal, living there about 5 years, when they moved to Spokane, Wash., where he built a nice home in which they resided until death called him.

A wife and five children are left to mourn his death, three boys and two girls, Mrs. W. H. White (Ina Dorn), Mrs. A. B. Judd (Hattie Dorn), and Alfred Dorn, all of Spokane, Wash., Archie Dorn of Stanley, Wis. and Ray Dorn of Raynesburg, Montana. Also one brother and three sisters, besides other relatives and a large number of friends , survive. He has been ailing since February and was compelled to take his bed July 21st, where he gradually grew worse, in spite of all that could be done for him and passed away September 27, 1917 at the age of 63 years, 8 months, and 14 days. He was a kind and loving husband and father, a good neighbor, and a pleasant man to meet.

Funeral Services were held at Smith and company's undertaking parlors at Spokane, Sept. 30th, conducted by the family pastor, Rev. Thomas Lawson, assisted by Rev H. J. Westwood. The remains were laid to rest in the Riverside Park Cemetery.
