Thomas & Roxena (Vernom) Chadwick

Greenwood, Eaton, Clark Co., Wisconsin

 

Thomas was born 15 Jun 1832 in NH and moved with his parents to Warrensburg, N.Y. when he was a boy, where he grew to manhood.  He was married to Roxena Vernam, the daughter of John and Clarissa (Beswick) of Boulton, Warren Co., NY, in 1859.  Thomas engaged in the lumbering business in NY state in early life and came to Wisconsin for the first time in 1857, and again in 1861, when he invested in timber lands.  In 1872 he moved to Neillsville with his family and in the spring of 1873 moved to his farm in Eaton Township.

 

He died at his home last Thursday, June 29, 1911, at the age of 79, from general decline and age.  The funeral services took place at the M. E. Church of Christie on Saturday, July 1st, Rev. W. T. Hendren, of the Presbyterian Church of Greenwood officiating, and the burial was in the Christie Cemetery.
