Bio: Gosar, Tony – Barn Destroyed by Fire (Aug 1984)

Seven calves and 4,000 bales of hay were among losses in a barn fire five miles east of Greenwood, Wednesday. The 34 x 64 foot structure, owned by Tony Gosar, began burning around 11:15 a.m. and flames soon spread to an adjacent heifer barn and milk house.

Cause of the fire was unknown, although Gosar noted that several fuses on the farm had blown three days earlier when lightning struck the area.

The Greenwood rural fire department responded to the call and managed to prevent the blaze from spreading to other buildings on the farm.

Redman, Donald H. (? – 15 Aug 1975)

A Unity man was killed near there when his car failed to make a corner and flipped into a ditch.

Pronounce dead on arrival at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls was Donald H. Redman, Unity, who was along in the car at the time of the crash at 3:15 p.m. Friday.

According to police reports, Redman was heading west on CTH K, about four miles west of Unity, when he approached the T-intersection of CTH Q. Apparently traveling at a high rate of speed, the car skidded sideways into the ditch at the far side of the roadway, slammed against a box holding telephone equipment and flipped back onto its wheels.

Ms. Hedler completed her Masters of Science degree at the University of North Dakota, in August.

Wanher (?) is a graduate of the University of North Dakota and is employed at Radio Station KCFI in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

An October 17, 1975 wedding is planned.

William Zukowski, 61, died at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, on Tuesday, August 26, 1975.

Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, August 28th, 10:30 a.m. at St. Hedwig’s Chapel. Burial will be made in the Old St. Hedwig’s Cemetery.

Greg, who graduated in May from Thorp High School, will be attending the University of Wisconsin, River Falls this fall.

Mrs. Michael (Bobbi) Navratil has assumed the duties of Director of Nursing at Victory Memorial Hospital. According to Administrator, Fred Stapleton, Mrs. Navratil assumed her now position on September 1, 1975.

She replaces Mrs. Gordon (Dorothy) Blazel, who asked that she be allowed to step down. Mrs. Blazel will continue as a registered nurse at Victory Memorial.

News: Worden Township – Accident Injures six people (23 Aug 1975)

Six persons suffered injuries in a two-car accident on County Trunk N, in the Town of Worden, August 23, 1975.

The vehicles were driven by Jerome Ciolkosz, Rout 3, Stanley, and Eugene W. Oberle, Route 3, Stanley.

According to police, the Oberle vehicle was traveling east on the county trunk and the Ciolkosz auto drove out from a side road and collided with the right side of the Oberle auto.

Ciolkosz, 19, suffered an arm injury. Also in the car was David Kaczmarek, 30, Thorp, who suffered a leg fracture and head cuts, and James J. Morgan, 12, Thorp, with a head bump.

Oberle, 46, sustained head cuts. A daughter, Ann Oberle, 8, suffered head cuts, and another daughter, Jane Oberle, 15, suffered a leg fracture, cuts on the right arm and head.

The injured were taken to Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley for treatment.
