Hribar, Clara C. (16 JUL 1925 - 23 APR 2012)

 

Clara C. Hribar, 86, of Greenwood, died on Monday, April 23, 2012, at her home. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. The Rev. Joseph Follmar will officiate and burial of cremains will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Clara Christine Routar was born on July 16, 1925, in Willard, the daughter of John and Ana (Jionetti) Routar. She grew up on the family farm and received her education at Willard State Graded School and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1943. Clara then attended St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Marshfield, and graduated in 1947. After graduation, she worked for a time at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital and also did private nursing care in other hospitals. 

She was united in marriage to Walter Hribar at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard on Nov. 25, 1948. She and Walter farmed together in Greenwood until retirement.

Clara was a member of the KSKJ, American Slovenian Catholic Union.

Clara's life involved caring for her family and she expressed her love by the wonderful cooking that she did for all.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Walter, of Greenwood; her children: Joanne (Tom) Zwaschka of Willard, Wally (Cheryl) Hribar of Prior Lake, Minn., Mary (Gerry) Denk of Crystal Lake, Ill., Kathy Paredes (Tim Dew) of Conroe, Texas, Patti (Dennis) Suda of Spencer, Tom Hribar (Lynn Eaton) of New Prague, Minn.; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Anne Collier and Jenny Routar; and one brother, John Routar.
