Granton (17 March1966)

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Trimberger have returned to Springfield, Ill., after spending several days in Marshfield with her father, Horrace Haack, who suffered an apparent heart attack last week while at work.  It was through a misunderstanding that last week’s news stated it was Hugo Trimberger who became ill, instead of Mr. Haack.  Mr. and Mrs. Dale Trimberger also visited at the parental home in Granton.

Mrs. George Carstensen of rural Granton underwent surgery last Thursday in Memorial Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Moh and daughter of Des Moines, Ia., were weekend gusts at the Lucien Moh home and visited his mother, Mrs. Dora Moh.

The Granton Civic Club met Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Rosetta Meyers. Hostesses were Mrs. Jeannette Steiner and Miss Lois Paradis.  Each member attending the "Hobby Night" wore a hat she had styled for the Spring season.

Ed Marg of rural Granton underwent surgery last week in Marshfield.

Mrs. Ed Schlinsog has returned home from Memorial Hospital in Neillsville, where she underwent a checkup.

The March meeting of the Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid was held last week Wednesday afternoon in the church hall. The meeting opened with a short devotion by the Rev. F. C. Benecke. This was followed by the showing of a film strip "A School for Reggie" which showed work done by the missions for colored children in Alabama.  The Zion Sunday school each year in February has a special collection that is used for Christian Education in Selma, Ala. The lunch committee consisted of Mrs. Otto Hasz, Mrs. Albert Hasz and Mrs. Richard Hillert. Serving on the lunch committee for the April meeting will be Mrs. Louis Helm, Mrs. Dan Garbisch and Mrs. Henry Helm.

Mrs. Tessie Pickett of Spencer is a hospital patient in Marshfield.  Mr. and Mrs. Bob Spry of Granton have made several trips to visit Mrs. Spry’s mother.

Mr. and Mrs. Victor Braatz, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hoeft and Mrs. Ottelia Hoeft were guests Saturday evening at the Henry Lucht home in Schofield and attended a birthday party in honor of Mrs. Lucht.

The Rev. and Mrs. F. C. Benecke drove to Shawano Monday on business.  Enroute home they were overnight guests of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Druckrey, and family and helped their twin granddaughters celebrate their third birthdays.
