Hohenstein, Harold W. (? - 14 March 1966)

 

Funeral services were held Friday from the Georgas Funeral Home for Harold W. Hohenstein, 55, who died March 14 at his home on rural Granton. The Rev. Evan Dieck of the Zion American Lutheran churches officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were: Clifford Winter, John Urban, Jr., Alvin Krause, Oliver Williams, Clarence Reinart and Elmer Kapfer.

 

"Sweet Hour of Prayer" and "Beyond the Sunset" were sung by Ellis Wall, accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.

 

People from out of town attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hohenstein and son, Mike, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kreiser, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hohenstein and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Schumway and children and Palmer Schumway, all of Janesville; Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Pinnow of Footville; Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Fields and Ollie Poler of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Sletten of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Pete Reinart, Martin Reinart and family, Mrs. Gladys Reinart, all of Merrillan; Mrs. Art Hohenstein and Mrs. Barbara Cattanach of Nekoosa.

 

From the Washburn Area News - This community was greatly shocked and grieved over the tragic death of Harold Hohenstein at his home last week Monay evening. Funeral services were held at the Georgas Funeral Home Friday with most of their neighbors and friends from this vicinity attending.

 

Mrs. Hohenstein, who was critically wounded, underwent emergency surgery in Marshfield for the removal of bullets.  Latest reports are that she seems to be recovering satisfactorily.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hohenstein and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kreiser of Janesville arrived Tuesday morning, being called here by the death of their father and critical condition of their mother.
