Merrillan (31 March 1966)

 

Mr. and Mrs. James Fitzpatrick of Tucson, Ariz., have moved into an apartment over Fitzpatrick’s tavern on Main Street. Fitzpatrick recently completed over four years in the air force and plans to finish his work for a conservation degree in wild life at Stevens Point State University. Mrs. Fitzpatrick was recently graduated from the University of Arizona at Tucson, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education.

 

Mrs. Walter Nash accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Robert Utberg and family of Altoona and Mrs. Glen Knutson and Kent of Tomah, to Jackson, Miss., where they will spend a week visiting Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nunn and family. The ladies are Mrs. Nash’s daughters.

 

Miss Shirley Hagen of New Holstein spent Saturday afternoon at the Harland Anderson home.  Matt accompanied her to Altoona where they visited her parents and Matt’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hagen. They returned Sunday afternoon and Shirley returned to her teaching duties at the New Holstein High School.

 

Mmes. Lawrence Green, John Gard and Virgil Hill and Dennis were in Eau Claire Friday.

 

Elmer Waller is spending a few weeks visiting his daughters and their families in Milwaukee.  Mrs. Waller is a patient in a Madison hospital.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Oswald Mattson of Babcock were recent overnight guests of Mrs. Oscar Hagen.

 

Mrs. Helen Houge spent the weekend in Beaver Dam visiting her sisters, Mmes. Jeanette Braatz and Dorothy Meyers, who are teachers in the Beaver Dam elementary system. 

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Swartling, Mike and David Rhoades drove to Minneapolis Sunday and accompanied Leo Swartling home.

 

Mrs. Vivian Kearney is spending several weeks visiting her sons and their families in Milwaukee.

 

Mrs. Freda McCorison was a weekend guest of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Rucker of La Crosse.

 

Miss Mary Graves of Neillsville spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gib Gile and attended the talent show held at Lincoln High School in Alma Center.

 

Col. and Mrs. Willard Olson of Delavan visited Mrs. Sylvia Tolkan Sunday afternoon.  They were enroute to Bloomer, where Col. Olson cried a machinery auction.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Gus Neuman spent several days in Chicago last week visiting their children and transacting business.

 

Weekend guests at the Louis Hayden, Jr., home were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hayden and Jeanna, of Eau Claire, and Mr. and Mrs. Christy Houge of Antigo.
