Greenwood (28 July - 1966)

 

Postmaster and Mrs. Clarence Meinhardt have returned from Tacoma, Wash., where they attended the 25th reunion of the 12th Bombardment Group at McCord, AFB, near Tacoma.  At Lodgepole, S. D., they were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Miller; Gordon also being a former member of the 12th Bombardment Group.  While in Tacoma, the Meinhardts and Millers were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Swieso, former Wisconsin residents.  Mrs. Marie Meinhardt accompanied her son and wife as far as Groton, S. D., where she visited the Clocksene families, returning home with them Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. James Seliskar and family, and Mrs. Villa Vetterkind, returned last Thursday after spending some time in North Lake, Ill., with Mrs. William Seliskar.  While there visits were made to the Science and Industry Museum; Brookfield Zoo, O’Hare Airport, and O’Hare speedway. Sometime was spent at Lamont, Ill, with Father Al and Father Gus, former priests of Willard.  Monday morning they left for Michigan; and they spent Monday night with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Ethan Pohl, in Bellevue, Mich. Tuesday morning they left for Indian River, where they stopped to visit a shrine where the largest crucifix in the world stands. A tour was made of Kellogg’s’ in Battle Creek and Wednesday they visited Mackinac Island and the Soo Canal, returning home Thursday.

Mrs. William Catlin of San Diego, Calif., who had visited relatives and friends in Manitowoc, arrived here Saturday to join her children, Susan, Mark and Betsy, who are visiting until August 2 at the Leon Kuester home and with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Catlin, in Loyal before returning to Calif.

 

Mr. and Mrs. James Irish and children of Peepskill, N. Y., spent Tuesday and Wednesday with her sister, Mrs. Herman Rust, and family.  Other Tuesday visitors at the Rust home were Mrs. Richard Rust and daughters, Diane, Dawn and Dorothy, of Marshfield.

 

Sunday visitors at the Merril Hare home were Miss Elenor Krieg and Mrs. Alice Kahm of Marshfield, and Mrs. Margaret Seeley of Hollywood, Calif.  Mrs. Seeley is the former Margaret Krieg of Greenwood.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Bosar arrived from Green Bay Saturday to spend until Tuesday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Abel.
