Sands, Wendy Rae (Marriage - 6 August 1966)

Miss Wendy Rae Sands of Prescott and James Richard Resong of Neillsville repeated marriage vows Saturday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville, with the Rev. George Nelson officiating at a double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Sands of Prescott, and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. John Resong of Neillsville.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of Chantilly lace over taffeta, with the Basque bodice styled with Sabrina neckline. The full bouffant skirt was fashioned with a ruffled tier.  Her long train was attached by two bows at the shoulders.  A leaf cluster headpiece, decorated with seed pearls, held her bouffant veil. She carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations, with pink rosebuds.

Miss Kris Englebretson of Loyal served as maid of honor.  Miss Mary Ann Resong, sister of the groom, was the bridesmaid.  They wore pink floor length dresses styled with Empire waistlines.  Lace over taffeta bodice topped the crepe skirts. Their bouquets were pink rosebuds with white carnations.

John Hoesly of Marshfield was bestman. Randall Sands of Prescott was groomsman.  Ushers were Kent Dull and Larry Marshall.

Nuptial music was played by the Brothers of St. Pius of De Soto. The bride is a 1966 graduate of Loyal High School, and Mr. Resong was graduated in 1965 from Neillsville High School.  He is employed at the Nelson Muffler plant in Neillsville.
