Julius Luchterhand Dies Last Thursday

Had Been Resident in This Section of State Since 1888; Resident of Unity at Time of His Death.


Julius Luchterhand, aged 75 years, who had lived in this part of the state since 1888, died last Thursday evening at about 6:30 o’clock in St. Joseph hospital in Marshfield of a cerebral hemorrhage.  The deceased’s home was at Unity at the time of death, but he was well known in Marathon and Clark counties.


Julius Luchterhand was born January 11, 1867, and was married in Loyal to Miss Doris Wiede in 1890.  He moved to a farm west of Unity in 1888 and lived there until 1916 when he moved to the village of Unity and lived there since.  His wife preceded him in death by two months ago, on February 23, 1942.  A son, four sisters, and a brother also preceded him in death.  Surviving are one daughter, Miss Louis of Chicago Heights, Ill., two brothers Frank and Albert of Loyal, two sisters, Mrs. Walter Limp of Bloomer and Mrs. Robert Matee of Halest, Can.


Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, and at 2 o’clock at Zion Evangelical Lutheran church, the Rev. O. H. Hoffman in charge of the services, and burial was made in Brighton cemetery.
