Funeral for Mrs. M. DeSota Held Sunday


Had Been Ill for Past Year at Farm Home South of Unity; Rev. J. A. Olson In Charge of Services at Colby.

Mrs. Mary DeSota, aged 67 years, who lived on a farm just south of the village of Unity for the past 23 years, died at 7 o’clock Thursday evening of last week at her home, following a year’s illness. The body was taken to the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby where funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock, the Rev. J. A. Olson of Unity in charge of the services and interment was made in the Brighton cemetery.

Mrs. DeSota, nee Mary Holdt, daughter of the late Martin Holdts, was born in Denmark June 14, 1875 and came to American in 1883. She was married in Thorp June 12, 1892, to Jacob DeSota, who preceded her in death 17 years ago. The DeSotas had moved to Unity from Dorchester. A member of the Evangelical church at Dorchester, Mrs. DeSota is survived by five children, Archie DeSota of Minneapolis; Martin DeSota of Milwaukee; Mrs. Gust Cundy of St. Paul; Ivan DeSota at home and Mrs. Robert Troutman of Milwaukee; two brothers, George and Nels Holdt, both in Missouri, and several grandchildren.
