BRIGHTON CORNERS

Frank Oelrich, Frank Cramer, Frank Korth, Fred Korth and Ernest Korth acted as pall bearers at the funeral of their brotherinlaw, Louis Carey, who was buried at Wausau Wednesday.

Dale and Theone Weisman of Stratford are spending a weeks at the home of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Krause. Their mother, Mrs. Clifford Weisman, has just under gone a serious operation at the Marshfield hospital.

Virginia Korth arrived home from Chicago Sunday afternoon. She will spend several weeks at home.

Mr. and Mrs. Lester Willner left for Kansas last Thursday where he is stationed at Camp Riley.

Albert Foss, who has been employed at Madison, is spending several weeks at his home.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sersch and son, Roy have been ill with the flue the past week.

The Brighton school will present its Christmas program at the school Friday evening.

The Parrette school program will be given Monday evening.

A large number of relatives and friends gathered at the Frank Cramer home Sunday to tender a miscellaneous shower in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Willner who were married Saturday. Cards were played at which Chas Griepentrog and Mrs. Ed. Schwantes won high score and Louis Cramer low. Many beautiful gifts were received by the couple. A midnight lunch was served and all had a most wonderful time.

The Brighton Busy Bees 4-H club will give its annual Christmas party at the Brighton school Sunday evening. The first and third year pins have not yet arrived.

Mrs. George Schwantes Sr. assisted with butchering and sausage making at the Donald Schwantes home last week.

Word was received by relatives that Louie Carey of Wausau passed away Sunday morning. He was a former resident of Brighton.

Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Bruesewitz entertained a group of friends at a miscellaneous shower in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Willner Tuesday evening.
