Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dankemyer and son Erwin autoed to Granton Thursday of last week when Mrs. Had dental work done. The roads were fine except where we expected the best road.

Joe Doll has purchased a new Ford of Harry Eide. But be careful Joe, the ditches are somewhat soft yet.

Chas. Loy says there is only one thing to do, either get married or go to war.

There will be an ice cream social at the Dankemyer school district No. 4, Fremont. As soon as we can expect one warm evening will state the date at our next writing.

Al Christenson is drilling a well at Louis Lindow’s. He is coring in granite rock.

Chas. Kempin lost a fine yearling colt this week.

Arbor day was observed at District No. 4 on Friday. The ground got some cleaning. Ora bossed the job.

Mrs. Freeman Dankemyer went to Granton to make a visit at her old home at A. Krause’s. Freeman is now head cook. How would you like to be the boarder?

Henry Eibergen and Peter Madler are loading cord wood at Nast Bros. landing.

Chas. Whithom exchanged his farm for one near Spencer. Chas. says he is going to farm it this time.

Mr. and Mrs. Wellie Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dankemyer autoed to Marshfield and took in the sights at the asylum. For barn equipment and fine stock, they have them. The hogs are in fine condition.

W.R. Happe had the misfortune while sharpening fence posts last Friday, to have his face badly bruised up. A flying piece from the saw struck him below the eye, causing a bad cut. He is now under Dr. Housley’s care.
