Washburn (13 April 1967)

Mr. and Mrs. Leland Dopp and daughters of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Urban and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Vincent and daughter, Joyce, and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Vincent and daughters were entertained at the Mrs. Floyd Wall home Sunday in honor of the birthdays of Mrs. Wall and Mrs. Stevens.

Godfrey Laufenberg of Alma Center, father of Mrs. Bruce Spiegel, who underwent surgery at Memorial Hospital a few weeks ago, is beginning to improve nicely.

Lorraine Lincoln, who is taking nurses’ training in Kenosha, spent last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lincoln. She spent Thursday and Friday with her sister, Vera, in Minneapolis. Her parents took her to Mauston Sunday, where she returned to Kenosha with a friend.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Trachte and Mrs. Fred Pretsch spent last week Thursday evening with the latter’s son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Jelinek.

Mr. and Mrs. Max Opelt of Granton, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short, were recent callers at the George Allbaugh home in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary. Rev. Flemming of Marshfield also called there.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Kosmoski and Mrs. Merle Austin called at the Mrs. Art Odell home Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Krause were Sunday evening callers at the Irving Stevens home.

Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Anderson and family of Kenosha spent the weekend at the Robert and Ragnar Mortenson homes.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kapfer were Sunday dinner guests of their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Kissinger, near Spencer.

John Trogner was a Sunday dinner and supper guest of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kuhn.

Bob and Charles (Jigs) Poler of West Bend spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Poler. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Williams were Sunday dinner guests there. In the afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Poler drove to Hatfield to see the high water, and called on Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Vandeberg at their cottage. Other visitors at the Vandeberg cottage were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Whitfel of Wisconsin Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Judson Phipps of Granton and Mr. and Mrs. Al Mashin.

Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Williams visited Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Mashin and son in Tomah Tuesday.
