Holewinski, Mr./Mrs. John F. (Silver - 17 JUL 1962)

Mr. and Mrs. John F. Holewinski celebrated their Silver Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, July 21 with a reception at St. Mary’s Hall at Junction in the evening. They attended Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Junction, with their immediate family, where they also renewed their wedding vows, with Father Andrew Karablis officiating. Mrs. Al Symbol was organist. A breakfast was served to the immediate family at the Holewinski home.

An evening of dancing was enjoyed by about 250 relatives and friends. Music was furnished by Kodl’s Orchestra. Refreshments were served and garden flowers were used in decorations.

Their daughter, Mrs. Francis Derks and daughter-in-law had charge of the guest book and cut and served the three tiered wedding cake.

The bride of twenty-five years ago greeted the guests wearing a sheer silver effect dress with a corsage of red roses.

The honored couple received many lovely gifts, greetings and a purse of money. Guests were present from Chicago, Ill., Chippewa Falls, Medford, Boyd, Cadott, Unity, Edson, Thorp and Stanley.

The former Tillie Konwinski and John Holewinski were married at St. Hedwig’s Church, Thorp, on July 17, 1936. They moved to the farm on R. 2 Thorp where they have resided ever since. They have two children, John Jr. and Mrs. Francis (Patricia) Derks, both married and live in the Stanley area, and also four grandchildren, Kenneth and carol Derks, and Donald and James Holewinski.

They are members of St. Mary’s Church, Junction, and are active in its organizations.
