Baehr, Anita S. (25 July 1922 - 27 July 2012)

Anita S. Baehr, 90, of Thorp, died on Friday, July 27, 2012, peacefully at her home. A funeral Mass was held at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Church in Thorp on Monday, July 30, at 10:00 a.m., with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A graveside service followed the funeral at the Riverside Cemetery at Withee.

Anita was born on July 25, 1922, to Anna and Fred Petrulis. She graduated from Withee High School in 1941. She married Vernon Baehr on August 24, 1949. They had six children. Anita farmed with her husband, Vernon, of 34 years until they sold their farm to their son, David.

In 1983, Anita and Vernon moved to Thorp where she volunteered at the Thorp Senior Center for many years. She was an active member of the St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Parish for most of her life. Anita enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and visiting with family and friends.

Anita is survived by five of her children: Linda of Antioch, CA, Peter of N. Fond du Lac, Audrey (huck Froehlich) of Watertown, David (Gayle) of Withee and Evie (Eric Pongratz) of Sun Prairie; nine grandchildren: Kevin, Keith, Ann, Whitney, Weston and Aselyn Baehr, Diane (Baehr) Wendt, Joey and Scott Pongratz; along with four great-grandchildren: Madison, Perry and Olivia Baehr and Hans Wendt.

Anita was recently preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, and her son, Calvin (Cheryl) Baehr. Her sister, Sylvia Swienton, and brother, Ferd Petrulis, also preceded her in death.
