Erickson, Karen S. (5 OCT 1963)

White Fuji mums and white pompons adorned the altar of Holy Rosary Catholic Church at Owe, for the wedding of Miss Karen Scott Erickson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emery M. Erickson, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), who was given in marriage by her father to Dennis Darrel Haas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Casper Haas Sr., Thorp.

The wedding was solemnized at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 1963 by the Rev. Hubert L. Crubel. The children’s choir sang for the Nuptial High Mass.

The wedding took place on the birthday of the bride’s grandfather, Mr. W.J. Mahoney, Sr., who was honored at the breakfast following the ceremony.

The bride wore a white peau de soie bridal gown with a demure scoop neckline and imported re-embroidered Alencon lace on the bodice and skirt front. The floor length dome skirt flowed into a chapel train.

A princess crown of pearls and crystals held her double bouffant veil. The bride carried a cascade bouquet of three Fuji mums and stephanotis secured with white ribbon.

Mrs. Norbert Pabich, Owen, the matron of honor, and Miss Carole Blazer, Minneapolis, Minn., the bridesmaid, wore street length sheaths of sata peace in autumn melon designed with scoop necklines and detachable gathered overskirts.

They wore matching sata peau petal cloches with bustle veils and carried cascades fashioned from two shades of carnation tinted with melon colors and white chrysanthemums and tied with white ribbon.

Eugene Butterfield, Madison, served as the best man, and Lawrence Ciolkosz, Thorp, as the groomsman.

Edward Haas and Casper Haas Jr. ushered the guests to their places in the church. The guests came from Minneapolis and Duluth, Minn., South Bend, Ind., Wausau, Thorp, besides the immediate area.

The wedding breakfast was served in the church parlors and the reception was held at the Meadowview County Club, Owen.

Mrs. Jack Jalling, Withee, received guests at the church, with the guest book, and Miss Mary Hedler, Thorp, assisted the bridal couple with cutting the wedding cake.

Mrs. has attended Myndal Cain School of Cosmetology in Minneapolis, Minn., and has been employed by the Thorp Finance Corp. of Thorp.

Mr. has, a graduate of Thorp High School, is employed by the John Strange Paper Co., Menasha, Wis.

The newlyweds are making their home at 1812 1/2 N. Appleton St., Appleton, Wis.
