Thompson, Esther H. #4 (15 AUG 1910 - 15 APR 1963)

Funeral services for Mrs. Alfred Thompson, 52, of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), who died at the University Hospital, Madison, April 15, 1963, of injuries received in a traffic accident March 27, were held Thursday afternoon. The Rev. Arnold Woodring and the Rev. James Stone officiated at the services held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. and Mrs. Stone and Mrs. Woodring sang "I Shall Understand" and "Beyond the Sunset." Mrs. Wenzel and Rhonda Mattson were the accompanist.

The pallbearers for the interment, which was made in Pine Hill Cemetery, were Aurel Baxter, Floyd Buchanan, Neil Green, Linwood Harris, Galen Marcott and Lee Smiley.

Relatives and friends attended from Hibbing, Remer and Hoyt Lakes, Minn.; Illinois, Appleton, Stevens Point, Germantown, Westby, Owen, Medford, Abbotsford and the vicinity.

The former Esther Pudlas was born at Curtiss, Aug. 15, 1910, and attended Curtiss grade school, the Wausau Business College, Taylor County Normal School and the Eau Claire Business College. For the past nine years she taught in rural Curtiss schools.

Her marriage to Alfred Thompson took place June 6, 1936 at Curtiss. The couple lived in the village until 1947, when they moved to a farm north of Curtiss.

She was a member of the Missionary Alliance Church and its Missionary and Helping Hand Societies.

Surviving her are her husband and two children, Dale of Willard and Karen at home. Also surviving are two grandchildren and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pudlas of Curtiss, and a sister, Mrs. Toivo (Grace) Kallio, route 2, Owen.
