Gierl, Dorothy (25 MAY 1963)

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Grandbois are now at home at 3548 Minnehahda Court, Minneapolis, Minn.

The wedding of Miss Dorothy Gierl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.H. Klinkhammer of Van Wert, Ohio, formerly of Abbotsford, and Richard Allen Grandbois, Minneapolis, Minn., took place Saturday, May 25, 1963, at St. Kevin's Catholic Church, with Father McDonnell officiating.

In the 11 o'clock ceremony preceding the nuptial high mass, the bride was given in marriage by her brother, Peter Gierl of Minneapolis. She was attired in a floor length gown of light slipper satin and lace designed with a fitted bodice, long sleeves and a large bow at the back of the waist from which a long train extended. White flowers and ribbons were arranged in the headpiece which secured her fingertip veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of glamellias, stephanotis and feathered carnations.

Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Don Grandbois of Minneapolis, brother and sister-in-law of the groom, and Miss Judith Gierl of Milwaukee and David Klinkhammer of Eau Claire, sister and brother of the bride.

Both bridal attendants were attired in street length dresses of turquoise light slipper satin with matching shoes and pill box hats with small veils. They carried bouquets of matching mums, stephanotis and feathered white carnations.

Gray Grandbois, a brother of the groom, and Dennis Acton, a friend, performed the ushering duties.

About 75 guests attended the reception held at the home of the groom's parents. They came from Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Illinois and Iowa.

The bride is a graduate of the Abbotsford High School and Business College in Minneapolis, and has been employed at the Northwestern Telephone Co. in Minneapolis. Her husband is a salesman at Friden Co., Minneapolis.
