Schuelke, Ottillie M. (22 November 1882 - 18 November 1967)

Funeral Services were held Tuesday from Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Granton for Mrs. Ottillie M. Schuelke, 84, of Neillsville, a former long-time resident of Granton, who died Saturday in Neillsville. The Rev. Roland Roehrs officiated. Burial was made in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Schuelke, the former Ottillie Kuechenmeister, was born November 22, 1882, in the Town of Grant. She had lived in that area her entire lifetime, with the exception of a few years following their marriage when they lived in Milwaukee, where Mr. Schuelke was a railroad employee.

Returning to the area, Mr. and Mrs. Schuelke farmed in the towns of Washburn and Grant until 1952, when they moved into Granton.

Her marriage to Henry Schuelke took place October 27, 1909, in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mr. Schuelke died in 1965. Since 1966, Mrs. Schuelke had been a resident of Memorial Home in Neillsville.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Granton and was a Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid member for over 40 years.

Mrs. Schuelke is survived by eight children: Harold Schuelke of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Alfred (Esther) Ebert of Black River Falls, Mrs. Frederick (Helen) Garbisch of Granton, Clarence Schuelke of Two Harbors, Minn., Mrs. Frank (Ruth) LaDuca of Buffalo, N. Y., Mrs. Gust (Doris) Hagen of Neillsville, Harry Schuelke of Milwaukee and Mrs. Daniel (Ella) McCormick of Milwaukee. Other survivors include 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grand children.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Georgas Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were: Donald, Larry and Duane Ebert, Roland and Frederick Garbisch, Jr., and Clarence Schuelke, Jr. “The Lord’s My Shepherd” and “Asleep in Jesus” were sung by Misses Eileen and Janet Garbisch, accompanied by Mrs. Leland Garbisch.

People from away here for the service were: Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schuelke of Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Ebert and family of Black River Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schuelke and family of Two Harbors, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank LaDuca of Buffalo, N. Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Schuelke and family and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel McCormick, Miss Alma Schuelke, Janet Vogt and Miss Ruby Schuelke, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Julian Anderson and family of Auburndale; and Mrs. Elmer Garbisch of Cudahy.
