PETER F. LANTZ, of sections 27 and 28, range 2 west, was born in Metz, near the Rhine, Germany, February 13, 1833, the son of George P. Lantz, deceased, a native of the same place. He brought his family to the United States in 1838, settling in Detroit, Michigan, where he worked at the trade of stone-mason until his death, which occurred about twelve years ago.
