The Military Career of Vaughn Forster

 

Vaughn Forster

CPL Vaughn J. Forster, Company E, 8th Infantry, 4th Division, 3rd Army.  Served in the Battle of the Bulge, suffered frozen feet and was evacuated to the UK for 2 1/2 months of rehabilitation. Vaughn was on flag duty following the death of President Roosevelt. Was then attached to the 787th Military Police Battalion stationed in Paris.


At the end of the war he shipped out of Antwerp, Belgium and was honorably discharged on February 26, 1946.  Following his World War II service, Vaughn farmed in the Township of Thorp.  Married Amelia Cornwall in 1948, children Leroy, Sharon, LaVawn,
Charles, Vaughn James, Kenneth & Mary Jane.  Vaughn & Amelia currently reside in Chippewa Falls, WI.
