John C. Duffy lived to be 77 years of age.  He was united in marriage at Augusta, Wisconsin in 1880 and moved to Thorp, Clark County, Wis. just two years later.

He was a veteran of the Civil War and served as a private in company H of the New York Infantry.

John died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital at Chippewa Falls, where he was being treated for various ailments incident to old age for about a month. His body was taken to Thorp, Wisconsin for interment, the funeral to take place on Thursday morning from St. Bernard's Church.

Mrs. Mary Duffy died at the Rutledge Home at Chippewa Falls on Sunday, May 10, 1925 at the age of eighty-eight years and eight months. She was born at Waddington, N.Y., on Sept. 10, 1837.  With the exception of a few years spent at the Veterans Home at Waupaca and the past year at Chippewa Falls, Thorp has been her home. She leaves no known relatives. Her path through life was marked with deeds of kindness and cheer, bravely meeting the stern requirements and often the disappointments of life. Her remains were brought here for burial and the funeral took place from St. Bernard's Church on Wednesday morning, followed by interment beside her husband in the Catholic Cemetery.
