Fields transfers to Army National Guard

David Fields, a physician assistant at Neillsville’s Memorial Medical Center (MMC), served as a captain in the Army Reserves and recently transferred to the Wisconsin Army National Guard.  Lt. Col. Ryan Brown, battalion commander, performed the swearing in ceremony Monday, March 28.

 

Also attending was Sgt. Joann Wampole, Field’s wife, Corliss, and the Fields’ children, Ben and Sarah. Fields will be assigned to the First Battalion, 120th Field Artillery, based in Wisconsin Rapids.  He committed to three years with the National Guard.

 

Fields was on active duty in support of Operation Enduring Freedom for 13 months as a Medical Treatment Section Officer-in-Charge with the 372nd Engineering Brigade out of Fort Snelling, MN.  He served in Afghanistan for 11 months and was re-deployed home in September 2010.
