In a recent letter to the Gleaner office Rob Syth sent an encouraging report of
conditions among former Greenwood people at Gerard, Montana. He says:
“Crops are looking good now, flax is doing nicely. It is going to be good. I
have 65 acres of flax and 50 acres of wheat and oats, but the hail hurt them
some. We have had two or three nice rains here lately. We have fine soil here
and most everything will grow; gardens and potatoes look good. I think flax will
be worth $2.50 per bushel.
All the Greenwood people that are located here are all well and prospering.
I had a steam plowing outfit this spring and go in 110 acres. I don’t think that
is so bad for a Clark County buckwheater.
