Schmitz, Tori L. (6 Aug 1987 – 9 Dec 2020)

Tori L. Schmitz, 33, Mauston, formerly of Greenwood, died on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn. A walk-through visitation will be held from 4:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17, at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand. Masks and social distancing are required.

Tori Lynn Horn was born on Aug. 6, 1987, in Neillsville, the daughter of Donald and Betty (nee Schmit) Horn. She graduated from Greenwood High School in 2005. In 2007 she moved to Boise, Idaho, where she attended Boise State. Tori graduated with a bachelor’s degree in international business and finance. She was employed at Fisher Technologies in Boise, Idaho, since 2010. On June 25, 2009, Tori married Joshua Schmitz. She was the mother of two children, Cadence Claire, age 8, and Dylan James, age 4. She enjoyed softball, working out, listening to Christmas music, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Josh; her daughter, Cadence; her son, Dylan; her mother, Betty (Kevin Kast); two sisters, Kyle (Kyle) Volovsek and Dana (Jason) Zuelsdorff; a brother, Daryn (Tammy) Horn; her nieces, Shaylin, Taiyana, Jadyn, Lainey, Julianne, Emily, Lydia, Jillian, Saige, and Avery; a nephew, Dominik; her parents-in-law, Penny and Miles Holt and Robert Schmitz; two sisters-in-law, Haylie (Chad) Traun, and Lacey Holt; a brother-in-law, Chancelor Holt; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald J. Horn; her paternal grandparents, Donald Horn and Dorothy Yaeger; and her maternal grandparents, Wilhelmine and Edwin Schmit.
