Stelljes, Bernard (9 February 1921 - 6 January 1983)

NEILLSVILLE -- Bernard H Stelljes, 61, Montgomery, New York, husband of the former Patricia Winn of the Granton area, was pronounced dead on arrival at Rush Presbyterian Hospital, Chicago Thursday. He suffered a heart attack while traveling by train through Chicago, according to word received here.

Services will be Monday at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, with the Rev. Gary L. Clark, pastor of the United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in the Town of Grant Cemetery.

He was born February 9, 1921 in New York and educated in schools at Walden, New York. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer.

After his discharge, he returned to New York and for the past 20 years was employed by Newburgh Molded Products, Newburgh, New York.

His marriage to Patricia Winn took place November 22, 1945 at Walden, New York. She survives.

Also surviving are his father, Henry C. Stelljes of Melbourne beach, Florida; two brothers, Gunther Stelljes and Herman Stelljes, both of Walden, New York.

He was predeceased by his mother.
