Hoehne, Julius R. (1907 - 1982)


Funeral services for Julius R. Hoehne, 74, of 303 W. Begley, Greenwood, Clark County, were conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 28, at Zion United Church of Christ, Greenwood.

Mr. Hoehne died at 1:35 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 24, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
Rev. Alwyn York officiated at the service, and interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Donald Decker, Harry Liebzeit, Burton (Buck) Jolivette, Victor Gray, Harold Krom and David Briski. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Dallman, Dr. W.A. Olson, Truman Hill, Stanley Raik, Jesse Raab and Charles Barr. Rinka Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Julius Hoehne was born to Carl C. and Lena (nee Runkel) Hoehne on Dec. 24, 1907, at Greenwood. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for two and one-half years.

In 1927, he started working with his father and brother in the hardware business. After his father's death, he and his brother George operated Hoehne Heating, Plumbing and Hardware Co. until 1977, when he semi-retired.

He was never married.

He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and Masonic Lodge and Constituary.

An 8 p.m. Masonic Service was conducted on Friday evening.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Leonard (Ilma) Braatz of Crystal Lake, Ill. and Mrs. Nelda Dyre of Moorehead, Minn.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, George, in 1975.
