Schmidt, Ed (1903 - 1982)


Ed Schmidt, 78, of 319 North West St., Loyal, Clark County, died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1982 at 7:05 a.m.

Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 25, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal, at 11 a.m. Rev. James Logan officiated. Burial was in St. Anthony's Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joseph, Dale, Donald and Mike Schmidt, Fred Adler and William Horn.

Mrs. Schmidt was born Dec. 25, 1903, in the Town of York. He and Genevieve Gaden were married June 22 , 1934, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville. After their marriage, they moved to the home farm in the Town of York, where they lived until they retired in 1972 and moved to Loyal.

Rosary services were held at Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, with the Parish Council of Catholic Women at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, and a Prayer Service at 8 p.m.

Mr. Schmidt is survived by his wife three sons, Ronald of Spencer and Eugene and Robert of Loyal two daughters, Mrs. Andrew (Dolores) Lindner of Muskego and Mrs. Frank (Charlotte) Oldham of Neillsville one brother, George of Marshfield two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Adler of Minneapolis and Mrs. Ray (Margaret) Horn of Loyal and fourteen grandchildren.

He was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.

Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, handled arrangements.
