Miller, Lucille (12 DEC 1903 - 19 FEB 2002)


COLBY - Lucille A. Miller, 98, Colby, died Feb. 19, 2002, at the Colonial Center where she had resided since May of 1989.

Funeral services for Lucille will be at noon Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father John Malik will officiate with a Mass of Christian Burial.

Interment will be in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Gutenberger, Kevin Hiebl, Bryan Miller, Kurt Miller, John Fialkowski, Terry Paul and Jeff Broeske.

Visitation with family and friends will be at the Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford on Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at St. Mary's Church.

The former Lucille Alma Bartnik was born Dec. 12, 1903, in the Town of Holton, rural Dorchester, the daughter of Frank and Louise (nee Denzine) Bartnik. Lucille and Joseph Miller were united in marriage on June 4, 1930, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Milan. They farmed in the Town of Holton until 1966 and then resided in Milan. Lucille enjoyed flowers, reaping the harvest of her garden and "every day fresh bread." She was a former member of St. Louis Catholic Church and Ladies Circle and St. Thomas Catholic Church and Altar Society.

Lucille will be sadly missed by her children: three sons, Joseph Miller of Kenosha, Jim (Patricia) Miller and Leonard (Lue) Miller, all of Dorchester six daughters, Jean (Duane) Korb of San Diego, Calif., Grace (Jim) Gutenberger of Colby, Dorothy (Edward) Broeske of Richfield, Mary Ann (Larry) Paul of Glendale, Elaine (Jim) Hiebl of Colby and Loretta (Gerald) Fialkowski of Hales Corners 51 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Miller, in 1986 a son, Louis Miller, in 1984 three sisters and two brothers.
